What Is Air Conditioning Maintenance?
Home air conditioning maintenance is very important for several reasons which we will go over with all home owners or business owners. This maintenance should be performed a minimum of one times per year in the spring. This will help with things like repair cost, longevity of your air conditioning unit. The most important will be the efficiency and capacity increase you will get by properly maintaining your air conditioning system properly.
At DND Heating & Air Conditioning, we charge a small fee to clean your air conditioning system outside and check your units operational Freon pressure, along with a 21 point inspection on your air conditioning system. This will help make sure your system is ready to face the 100 degree plus weather that will be coming into the McKinney area before summer is over. The most important thing any homeowner can do is change their indoor air filter at the proper interval.
Most indoor air filters are one inch thick and are required to be changed every month. This means that when you get your electrical bill in the mail you should always think about your air conditioning filter and get it changed. With this said we don’t think that having a $35 one inch thick filter is not a sound investment. Your total spending cash on these filters should be around $7 – $12 a piece. This will get you a decent filter without restricting your airflow, which will cut down your efficiency and capacity.
Our air conditioning technician will determine if you need to have your outside units cleaned. This will put your per unit maintenance cost at $189 per system. If your outside units do not need to be cleaned, the air conditioning check up will be less. Please note that when the technician comes out to your home or office they will determine weather you need to have the outside units cleaned or not. This is important to do properly as we have seen them damaged by using too much force or water pressure to remove the dirt. This is usually done with a chemical to help release the dirt without using too much force, as to not damage the coils.
